Surrounded by 18 acres of pristine wetlands, Cedarbrook Lodge’s abundant natural beauty and proximity to wildlife are a cornerstone of our heritage. We thrive from the tranquility and bounty that nature provides, and it is our duty to protect our ecosystem both locally at home and in our community.
Throughout our Seattle Southside home, guests can find numerous ways in which our commitment to the environment and sustainability manifest, showing up most often through four principles:
Agricultural Stewardship
We are committed to supporting local farmers, ranchers, vintners, and like-minded organizations. Our menus at Copperleaf Restaurant are rich with ingredients sourced right here in Washington state, with some sourced as closely as our own backyard.
Supply Chain Integrity
From the food we serve to the LED lightbulbs we use to the recyclable pens we provide, and much more, our commitment to sustainability runs through all points of our supply chain, from the garden to your plate, and from the manufacturer to your hands.
Natural Resource Efficiency
Energy is finite, and our recycling and composting programs, bio-fuel recycling, electric charging stations, and the use of smart energy systems and equipment all demonstrate our commitment to careful, efficient energy management.
Community Enrichment
As much as Cedarbrook Lodge is an urban sanctuary, no amount of nature or tranquility separates us from our Seattle Southside community. As such, we engage regularly with local organizations, arts and cultural organizations, and community agencies to help strengthen the fabric of our home. Simply put, we are many people’s neighbors, and we must do all we can to be the best neighbors we can be.
